"That's my great great grand pappy!"

that makes me sad because I know only a mild hot rod makeover can fix that front end, but doing that would also run the car itself

...and now we know what the offspring of a Volkswagen Beetle and an SR-71 Blackbird would look like.

Its beauty is in its unconventional... appearance. Think pugs- why do we think pugs are cute when they're but standard mushy faced ugly. Same concept.

I had been hoping for better, honestly.

We all would. But I meant it more from the "combos that probably shouldn't happen" angle.
At least if a Bug and an SR-71 did get together, we can be pretty sure the offspring would be sterile.

But what if you think pugs are ugly and you can't understand why other people think they're cute?

I'd still rock the shit out of it.

True dat.
I think it looks like the lovechild of an anteater and an ant.

I think it might be better without the bumper and inner set of lights.

heh. Okay. I can accept that. Still wouldn't be my first choice, but I suppose i can get down with acceptable.

Having no roof/windshield makes a big difference in the perception of it proportions too.
